Mother Earth is the inspiration for this piece and a reminder that we need to protect her.  The focal gemstone is a gorgeous Sonora Sunrise by lapidarist Jean Rhodes-Moen.  The colors represent our forest and the fires that threaten them.  The intricate piercing behind the stone and the pattern I chose for the mirror side of the pendant remind us that the forests are our planet's lungs.
 
Breathe! incorporates elements from noted metalsmith Francesca Watson's class on broken symmetry.  While the design appears simple, the execution is complex and challenging..much like our ecosystem.  Aside from the cabochon and the fine silver bezel, all the elements are sterling.  The dimension of Breathe! are 2 1/8th" wide and 2 3/8th" long.
